Art Deco Wedding Inspiration

AND ACTION!!  VISUALIZE the glam of the old Hollywood Studios and the dance scenes of Busby Berkley films.  In the age of Art Deco, we are inspired by machines, industry, straight lines and geometry.  Fashions, colors and architecture are bold, strong and over the top.  Art Deco is ornate, luxurious and eclectic.

Ginger Rogers, Marlene Dietrich, Joan Crawford and Bette Davis – these are the iconic women who pushed the fashion envelope.  Long draping body hugging gowns gave away little to the imagination.  Can’t you see Daisy Buchanan wearing one these head pieces, while crying to Jay Gatsby, “Oh, you want too much!  I love you now – isn’t that enough?”  Art Deco is so recognizable and distinguishable!

We love love love a crisp clean art deco font!!!  Make your invitations, save the date newsletters, wine labels, table numbers and place cards all in a jazzy cool lean art deco font, it’s soooo Muppets Take Manhattan and the Chrysler Building.  Thank you Pinterest for these fabulous art deco ideas!!

1930’s Vintage Inspired Elopement

Nothing says romance better than an intimate wedding built for two.  The unique touches of 1930’s vintage inspiration of this elopement gives us a special thrill.  Thank you to this beautiful couple, Yliana and Nicholas, who lovingly shared their most meaningful moments, and all the details that went into designing their special day, with our readers.

The couple exchanged vows in a traditional, yet uniquely private, Jewish ceremony under a chuppa set in front of the Forsyth Park Fountain, Savannah, GA.  In attendance were the wedding experts who helped to make this day possible.  A 1928 vintage saxophone player offered beautiful music throughout the evening.  The bride’s vintage inspired dress was redesigned to include the lace shawl and long sheer lace sleeves for a custom vintage look and was paired with stunning pair of custom teal colored Badgley Mischka heels.  Her handsome groom was dapper in Calvin Klein and hand crocheted kippot.

1930's Vintage ElopementAs the sun set, the couple moved to a perfectly appointed candlelit table complete with linen table cloth, two vintage candelabras and a gorgeous setting of vintage pieces that were hand selected by the bride and groom.  Details included; vintage Italian Avon silver bud vases, an amazing antique silver champagne bucket, authentic 1930’s Fostoria etch blue champagne glasses, vintage embroidered white linen napkins-which the couple had monogrammed- and vintage Japanese rose patterned china surrounded by hand stamped silver pieces.  A vintage crystal pedestal cake stand held the gorgeous monogrammed cake.  Winter colors of soft  blue, cream and white floral arrangements picked up the colors in the vintage china and beautifully complemented the silver place settings.

1930's Vintage ElopementWe love that the couple chose a horse-drawn carriage, complete with champagne toast, to ride off into their lives together. 1930's Vintage Elopement
